Literature Text
Inside me,
A never-healing wound
Beyond me
All is dark
I pray,
I pray,
I pray
To know the truth
To see you, talk to you again
To ask forgiveness,
Cos I’m to blame
But I don’t know if you can hear me
I don’t know if my words
Will catch the north wind and be scattered
Across the never-hearing world
Or if there’s someone who will hear me
Someone Great.
Who will respond
Who will bring you back to me
And let you shield me from the cold
Bitter wind of empty consolation
Who will bring me warmth
And resurrection
I pray,
I pray,
I pray
But perhaps no-one can hear me
I’m all alone
There’s no-one here
To put their arms around me
And whisper that it’ll be okay
Perhaps my words are caught by marshes
Who rustle, whispering my pleas
Which fall on deaf ears of the valley
Where with harsh winds from the seas
my prayers meddle, my words mix
Or are they melted slowly, slowly
By the glowing Will-o’-the wisp?
I pray,
I pray,
I pray
That through the dusty deserts
And through the lush green trees
My words will journey safely
And reach a hearing ear
A healing hand,
A loving heart,
Forgiving, merciful, but strong
Who can
Who shall
Who will
Bring the sunrise to my world
Inside me,
A never-healing wound
Beyond me
All is dark
I pray,
I pray,
I pray
But hear
Only silence
The rustling of the marsh
Whispering…
I pray,
I pray,
I pray
But see
Only the will-o’-the wisp
Its glow so harsh
Illuminates
The whispering marsh
Whispering
I pray,
I pray,
I pray...
A never-healing wound
Beyond me
All is dark
I pray,

A poem I wrote, and I'm quite fond of it myself.
If you simply read it, and even more if you download or fav it, please leave a comment. You dont have to write an essay, just leave a comment
I like it when people express their opinions.
Thanks,
Enjoy the poem
P.S. dont be put off by the apparent hugeness of it. It's not that big, but it looks long because I place an emphasis on the layout, its quite important here.
